John Gonzalez

Who I am:  Hello I’m John Gonzalez, I am so glad and thankful you took time  to check out my staff page to learn about me. I was born and raised in Houston. Some of my favorite things to do are work with youth, volunteer, play sports, and watch football. I’m a substitute teacher for Deer Park I.S.D. and I am the Sunday school teacher for high school at Southway (SCC)

What I do here at Southway: Here at Southway I am the Youth Intern so that means I coordinate events and I teach anyone who is above the age of 13 on Sunday mornings. I also co-lead the Young Adult bible study on Sunday nights. On Thursday nights I lead our Awana ministry. There has also been a time or two that I’ve gone up on stage during service and played with the band or sang with the choir. Oh yeah I almost forgot, I also do the design graphics and work on the web page here for Southway.

What I see God up to at Southway: One specific area that I see God working in here at Southway is helping us grow into deeper relationships. I see people being more transparent, engaging, and eager to grow in relationships that aren’t just the “hey! how you doing?” type on  Sunday mornings. These relationships aren’t just affecting the believers’ relationships with believers but are also affecting their relationship with God.
