Our Future

At Southway, our future is wide open.  Gratefully, we are physically located in between Pearland AND Houston, so we are endeavoring to be faithful to be on God’s mission to both cities.

We are continually asking some questions and pondering what those answers mean to us, our activities, and our vision for what is to come for us.

-What could God do with, and through a people, who are passionate about Jesus Christ through the Gospel and are continually driven by Gospel implications for their lives?

-What if we  were not attracted to the latest ‘fad’ way of doing church, but were simply gospel-driven, ever-growing followers of Jesus Christ?

-What if we were freed from security by our eternal security in Jesus Christ to risk ourselves for God’s fame and (ultimately) our most supreme joy?

We know that whatever form the future holds for us, we wish to be faithful in serving God’s mission as He works in, on and through us to help people become Gospel-Driven, Ever-Growing Followers of Jesus Christ.

Short-Term Future: 6 months-1 year.

-That we as a whole would treasure the Gospel more deeply as we realize its’ weighty and numerous applications for our lives.

-That we would see our Core Value of Prayerful Dependence more greatly esteemed as more and more people spend concentrated time in prayer both for our personal and church-wide needs, and for the Gospel to be shared and showed by us.

-That we would see our Core Value of Serving People be seen both in our worship gathering and through the people who call Southway home.  We see people greeting and welcoming people into our gatherings, helping them feel at home and like famly.  We see people assisting and aiding the elderly and widows in our faith family, helping to share and bear burdens.  We see people going to the poor and marginalized bringing hope and help through Gospel word and deeds.

-That we would fill our two worship services with people on various points on the spiritual spectrum to the point that a third service is prayerfully considered.
