Community Groups

Community Groups are groups between 4-14 people that exist to help participants grow in the Gospel (seeing how the Gospel applies to all of life) as they live out life together in the light of God and one another.  While participants may vary according to age, life phase, and maturity level, Community Groups will rally around four main pillars:

SHARING

Each week groups  take time to share what is happening in their lives.  At first this sharing will include some planned “sharing questions.  But after the first few weeks, it will become more informal and personal as  groups feels safer and more comfortable.

STUDY

Each week groups will  study a portion of God’s word that will vary according to  group life.  Some times groups will study from a prepared book/curriculum while other times they will plug into the current sermon series.   The  goal is to learn how to apply and live out Gospel applications in  day-to-day experiences and relationships.

SUPPORT

Each week groups will learn how to serve and take care of one another as Christ commanded (see John 15:9‑13).  This care will be shown in many forms in the life of our group including but not limited to prayer, listening, meeting needs, encouraging and even challenging one another as needed.

SERVING

Each week groups will discuss ways in which they can be a serving group, whether serving others in SCC , or outside SCC through various kingdom partnerships.  Eventually, the goal is to serve together in an organized way/service project once per quarter.
