What to Expect
What to Expect: Your First Visit on Sunday
ATMOSPHERE:
SCC is a welcoming community of people, and you’ll find that out as soon as you arrive on campus. We know that visiting a new place and new people can be more-than-a-little unnerving, so we’ve tried to make your first visit as smooth as possible.
WHERE TO GO:
From directional signage visible from the parking lot to the friendly folks who will greet you at the door all they way through the clearly marked areas of our worship center, we have tried to make navigation around our campus easy for you. We are available for any question you may have. So make sure you pick up a worship folder from one of our friendly greeters, grab a cup of coffee, and/or a donut as you enter the lobby and worship center and enjoy your time with us!
KIDS:
If you have children from newborn-4 years old, you can rest easy; they will be well taken care of by our trained and great nursery staff. Children age 4-8 can attend Children’s Church during our 11 a.m. service.
MUSIC:
You’ll experience what we call a “premium blend” of classic and modern songs, that teach truth about God through authentic expressions. The words to each song will be clearly posted on our center screen for you to sing along with. (For our older songs, you can also feel free to use hymnals located underneath your seat).
TEACHING:
On a normal Sunday, you’ll listen to a 30-40 minute talk that is a part of a larger series of talks going through a book of the Bible in a verse-by verse method. We do our best to avoid jargon that’s unfamiliar and will explain hard-to-understand issues in a way where everyone is on the same page.
GIVING:
You will not be asked to give anything outside of your information to us during your visit. We do not pass the plate at Southway, nor do we seek to coerce our guests into giving money to the work of the church. By all means, if you want to give you can, but it is not required nor will be asked for. Offering boxes are available in the back of the worship center and in the hallway should you wish to give monetarily.
